Class of 2027 鈥 Ivy League & Elite College Early Decision Acceptance Rates

Welcome to 国产第一福利影院草草鈥 first look at early round acceptance rates at Ivy League and other highly-selective colleges and universities for the 2022-23 cycle. As of this posting in January of 2023, there are still many schools who have yet to report their early round results. As such, you will see a number of 鈥淭BD鈥 designations in the charts below. These will be updated as soon as more Class of 2027 early decision acceptance rates become available.
What follows are two charts, both showing Class of 2027 and Class of 2026 data for the Early Action, Early Decision, and Single Choice Early Action/Restrictive Early Action rounds. One is for Ivy League schools and the other is for additional elite schools who are known for reporting their early acceptance information in a timely manner. We will also highlight trends and notable facts from schools that have reported their present-year acceptance rates.

Ivy League Early Decision Facts & Trends:
- 1,286 students 鈥 19% of early decision applicants聽 鈥 were deferred, and will receive decisions from the University along with regular decision applicants on March 30.
- This was the largest pool of students to apply early decision to Brown on record, with a 10.2% increase from last year鈥檚 number.
- Last year, the University accepted 14.6% of early decision applicants 鈥 896 total 鈥 from a pool of 6,146 applicants,
- The acceptance rate of 19% is an all-time low for the College鈥檚 early decision cohort.
- Additionally, 17% of accepted applicants came from low-income households and the projected average scholarship this year is $63,600 based on preliminary results 鈥 another record high.
- This year鈥檚 ED applicant pool saw a 14% increase in the number of applications compared to last year鈥檚 class.
- The early acceptance rate marks a 0.3 percentage point decline from the Class of 2026
- This is Harvard College鈥檚 second biggest early applicant pool, up from 9,406 for the Class of 2026.
- Of the applications received, roughly 78 percent of applicants were deferred and 9.5 percent were denied.
- Of the remaining applications, 21 percent were deferred for reconsideration in the spring, 67 percent were denied admission.
- The 67 percent of denied applicants is the largest percent of early action rejections since at least the class of 2022.
- This year marked the lowest acceptance rate in the two-decade history of Yale鈥檚 early action program, as well as its second-largest early applicant pool.

Highly-Selective Colleges & Universities Early Decision Facts & Trends:
- This represents a 4.5% decrease from the 21% acceptance rate for the Class of 2026.
- Of the admitted students, 634 students plan to enroll in Trinity College of Arts and Sciences and 166 plan to enroll in the Pratt School of Engineering.
- 聽North Carolina, New York, California, Texas and Florida are the states most represented among the Class of 2027鈥檚 Early Decision admits.

- This year, 38% of admitted ED1 Emory College students and 41% of admitted ED1 Oxford students did not submit test scores.
- In total, 722 Early Decision I (ED1) students were admitted to ECAS and 353 students to Oxford College.
- Emory College admitted 50 more ED1 students than last year, which is a 7.44% increase.
- Students came from 369 Georgia high schools.
- 12% were first-generation students.
- 36% of admitted students will be studying engineering; 12% will concentrate on computer science.
- The University is in its third year of a test-optional practice, one which will extend through at least 2024.
- Students attending 4,601 high schools from 50 states and 126 different countries applied.
- There was a 15 percent increase over the 9,683 REA applications received in the prior year.
- 7,892 applicants were deferred.
- 2,815 students were rejected.
- 532 withdrew.
- The in-state offer rate was 31% compared to 17% for non-resident applicants.
- 1,166 students were deferred.
- Applications were up from the 3,474 received in the previous cycle.
- This year鈥檚 early acceptance rate, a six-percent decrease from last year鈥檚, is also the lowest on record.
- The College deferred 144 applicants for early decision 鈥 15.2 percent 鈥 for reconsideration during the regular decision process.
- The College expects to receive between 10,000 and 15,000 additional applications via the regular decision process.
