McDonogh is an independent, coeducational day and five-day boarding school that enrolls students in prekindergarten through twelfth grade. Providing life-altering educational opportunities that inspire joy in learning and promote personal and intellectual growth is at the heart of the McDonogh experience. The School鈥檚 talented and caring teachers prepare students to lead and to be a force for good in a rapidly changing world.
In addition to state-of-the-art academic, art, athletic, and equestrian facilities, McDonogh鈥檚 800-acre campus provides countless opportunities for exploration. A unique highlight is Roots, a 10-acre farm where students experience hands-on learning and harvest produce for The Maryland Food Bank. McDonogh鈥檚 fleet of 20 buses serves Baltimore City and surrounding counties.
Five-day boarding offers the best of both worlds! Upper schoolers enjoy all that our campus has to offer during the school week and then head home for family time over the weekend. Living on campus makes it more convenient to participate in McDonogh鈥檚 many extracurricular activities and gives students opportunities to study, make new friends, and build community with campus residents. In a supportive setting, boarders develop the independence, self-discipline, and personal responsibility needed in college and beyond.
