Founded in 1948, VVS has from its beginning been dedicated to developing students who are not only accomplished scholars, but also citizens of the world, committed to making positive contributions to humanity. As an IB World School, Verde Valley School embraces the IB Learner Profile and equips our students with the tools to become active, compassionate, lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, deserve the respect to have their ideas heard. Verde Valley School touts the identity of IB + Dirt, emphasizing experiential education on its 140-acre campus in wilderness near Sedona, Arizona.
Academic Program:
Verde Valley School is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization and Cognia. Every student at VVS enrolls in six courses – one from each of the six IB groups. Students are required to engage in a well-rounded educational program in preparation for a competitive college admission process. The IB Program is a rigorous, comprehensive, balanced curriculum that incorporates ambitious standards of assessment and provides challenge to highly motivated students during the final two years of high school. To earn the IB Diploma, students are required to additionally complete the following three activities of the IB Core. (IB Course Certificate candidates select one of three.)
