The Christa McAuliffe Academy School of Arts and Sciences (CMASAS) is an asynchronous, private, K-12, accredited online school. Our unparalleled team of experienced educators embrace the individual learning styles and goals of each student with a flexible Personalized Education Plan (PEP). Our team of Personalized Education Coaches and Course Instructors work together to nurture the whole person in a safe, caring, student-centered environment. We empower students to explore infinite possibilities for personal growth, awareness, accountability, and professional success. As a global community, we celebrate diversity, mastery-based learning, and strive to make education enjoyable and engaging.

Academic Highlights

At CMASAS, courses are asynchronous and mastery-based, meaning that students take a small courseload but must earn a minimum of 80% in each class. All students are assigned a Personalized Education Coach (1:1)  and a subject-specific Course Instructor who provide support and guidance. 60 dual enrollment courses, 14 APs, 70+ STEAM courses, and over 30 student clubs are offered. On average, faculty members have worked 15 years in education; 50% have post-graduate degrees.

College Admissions Highlights

CMASAS graduates attend college at a diverse array of institutions across the globe, including Boston College, Brown, Cornell, University of St Andrews, NYU, Northeastern, University of Michigan, Notre Dame, UT Austin, the University of Washington, Purdue, Williams, Santa Clara, King’s College London, University of Toronto, Oxford University, Baylor, Agnes Scott College, San Diego State, University of Glasgow, Syracuse, and UC San Diego.

10 Reasons Why Students & Families Choose CMASAS

1) Self-Paced, Asynchronous Learning

Students progress at their own pace with 24/7 course access. Whether accelerating or taking extra time, our dynamic, interactive lessons are available year-round, allowing students to tailor their education to their needs and schedules.

2) Flexible and Safe Environment

Students learn from home or any secure, parent-monitored environment, eliminating campus safety and health concerns. Our approach allows for personalized assignments that reflect individual interests and skill levels.

3) Personalized Education Plans (PEP)

Each student receives a tailored PEP, guided by dedicated Personal Education Coaches (PEC) and Course Instructors (CI). This team provides one-on-one support in course planning, organizational skills, and graduation requirements.

4) Personalized Attention & Family Atmosphere

Weekly or daily check-ins from PECs, based on tuition level, ensure continuous support. Our instructional team fosters strong connections with families, creating a sense of belonging and extended family for students.

5) Broad Course Offering including STEAM Classes

CMASAS offers a wide range of STEAM courses, career technical education, arts, and 9 different world language options. Students can earn elective credits for pursuing passions outside traditional academics, such as sports, arts, or specialized training.

6) College Preparedness

With honors, AP, and dual enrollment courses, CMASAS prepares students for top-tier universities. Our partnership with Arizona State University allows students to earn both high school and college credits simultaneously.

7) Mastery and Project-Based Learning

Our mastery-based model requires an 80% grade for course completion, allowing students to focus deeply on fewer subjects at a time. Project-based learning connects coursework to real-life interests, fostering lifelong learning.

8) Accreditation and Reputation

Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and recognized by the NCAA Eligibility Center, CMASAS consistently ranks among the top online schools, meeting rigorous standards for quality education.

9) Student Life – Opportunities to Connect and Lead

Students engage in weekly homerooms, 30+ clubs, seasonal assemblies, regional gatherings, international trips, and leadership opportunities through Student Council and National Honor Society. An in-person graduation ceremony celebrates their achievements.

10) Global Reach

Students span more than 30 countries, which gives our community a multicultural perspective, encouraging global citizenship and respect for diversity.
