At URochester, students study what they love—discovering their academic potential while exploring career possibilities.
Programs include:
Explorations in Pathology: Students will learn all about Pathology and Laboratory Medicine through hands-on instructional sessions geared towards the high school student interested in learning more about the field of medicine. Students will spend the majority of their time at the large academic medicine center of Strong Memorial Hospital/University of Rochester Medical Center, with time also spent at the Central Laboratories facility in nearby Henrietta, NY. The program culminates with student presentations on an independent project that the student conducts under the guidance of a department faculty mentor.
Mini Medical School: Introduce students to anatomy through models and human organs. A dive into neuroscience and neurology with give students understanding of the basic structure and function of the brain. Plus an introduction to public health history, concepts, and contemporary issues.
