About Us
Through interactive classes and individualized instruction, students engage in undergraduate- and graduate-level discrete mathematics.
In MathILy classes, instructors provide the framework and you get to make (and prove!) the conjectures. You will encounter new ideas, improve your problem-solving skills, learn lots and lots of advanced mathematics, and hone your overall thinking skills. Even if you’re a master of mathematics, there is more to learn. And if you’re not a master, we’ll help you become one. Just want to have fun with math many hours each day? We can handle that with you, too. At MathILy, every student is excited to learn mathematics. The instructors are passionate and inspiring, and teach at MathILy because they love to share mathematics with talented high-school students. It’s certain that you’ll be challenged mathematically—if you can show mastery of a topic the class is discussing, the instructors will write harder problems especially for you.
These Philadelphia summer programs look for students who are mathematically talented. As such, as part of the application process, students must spend about four hours completing the Exam Assessing Readiness. In addition, students need to submit recommendations as well as a short essay and activities list.
